Poem: The Winning Streak Continues...

Today is the last day of April and our poetry celebration. Today's theme is this challenge of writing a poem every day.

Poem: Let's Create World of Optimism

Today is the 29th day of April poetry celebration. We began with a prayer to my Sadgurudeva H. H. Shri Narayankaka Maharaj and Maa Saraswati on 31th of March. Before we reach the final day tomorrow, again, I am writing a poem dedicated to my Sadgurudeva and Maa Bhagwati today, with moist eyes, for their eternal grace.

It's something more than a poem
It's my Sadhana, the worship to Lord Shrikrishna,
My devotion and the meditation... the Dhyana,
It's the Bhava samadhi.

Poem: The Mirror of Poems

We are celebrating poetry this month and it's the 28th day of our poetry festival today. There are many strange assumptions about poets. Why do poets write so passionately? What do they want to tell, and why? I don't think passionate poets and artists really need to give any answer to such questions for their art-love, certainly not. But it pains me to see the lack of awareness about the importance of poetry, the lack of respect for artists and yes, their dedication behind their work; especially in our country. Art isn't just a pass time. Today's theme is 'the purpose of poetry'.

What’s the purpose of poetry?
Poetry is the mirror that reflects
The life as it is,

Poem: The Moment I Will Meet You

Today is the 27th day of April poetry month. Today’s poem is a Dramatic Monologue poem. As the name suggests, it’s a monologue of the character that is disunified from their love for years. The beauty of the poem is that the hero/heroine singing this poem can be a man or a woman. When heart feels a deep love and when it misses its love, the feelings are same for a man or woman, I think so.

I'll tell you, how much I missed you
The moment I'll meet you.

Poem: Sunbeams

For today's poem, I have chosen an image as a prompt. Mother Nature inspires us  every day. The poem for the 26th day of April poetry months is, 'Sunbeams'.

Poem: The God's Endowments

Today's poem is a Didactic poem. A didactic poem instructs the mind to follow religious rules and boost the morals. This poem is a poem telling the mind what it must follow to discover the peace.

Searching for the peace of mind
Followed thousands of paths that bind.
Search within and you’ll realize:
It was always there, you forgot your mind to synchronize.

Poem: Fantasy World

We fantasize what we would love to see in our lives and what we can’t live. Today's poem is my fantasy of the ideal world of equality.

23 April 2016

Poem: Build Your Prosperity

Today's poem is a motivational poem to train the mind to think in the right direction.

Perplexing thoughts
Create a cage for a free mind
Eventually moving in a vicious circle
Dismissing the mind from marching ahead.

Prayer Poem: Sanctify Our Hearts

It's the 22nd day of April, the month of daily poetry celebration. Today's poem is a simple prayer to the God.

I pray to you, dear God,
I trust your presence in my life.
I pray to you dear God
Because I love you.

Poem: A Poem For You

Today is Poem In Your Pocket Day. The idea is to carry our favorite poem in a pocket and share it with others throughout the day. You can find more about the celebration of Poem in Your Pocket Day here.

The poets whom I find inspirational are Adikavi Maharshi Valmiki, Goswami Tulsidasji, Surdas, Meerabai, Bhagwan Vyasa, Adi Shankaracharya, P. P. 1008 Shri Vasudevananda Saraswati Swami Maharaj. Their poetry is for the mankind. Their prayers and hymns are filled with Bhakti bringing peace in the hearts of people since ages. Without any promotion and marketing, we eagerly want to read, study, sing and understand their creations, even today.

Make courage as your power

Poem: Dreamy

Today's poem is dedicated to the nostalgic moments with friends, the time when we could have free time and free mind. All of us miss those old days and old friends. Just dreaming of reviving those days again in today's poem.

My dream
A time
When we can chat endlessly
With no barrier to restrict us
Not even the time.

Poem: Paradise of Love

It's the day 17 and today, dedicating a beautiful poem to the Mother Nature.

Poem: Introspection

It's the heat wave here at Dhule, 40-degree Celsius plus temperature daily. So it's really a challenge to write a poem and blog it, every day. But it's also a solace.

The theme of today's poem - the day 16th poem of the April poetry celebration - is 'introspection'.

There are times when
You need to speak with your heart alone
In silence
There are times when
You need to question yourself

Poem: Perception

It's the 15th day of the PAD celebration. Today's poem is about the perception. Optimistic perception leads to a happy life. The power of the positive approach is miraculous.

Focusing on the circumstances that obstruct your path
You miss to seeing the doors of freedom present in all directions.
Liberating your imagination to envision possibilities
The Biggest problem may become a tiniest ignorable experience.
Free your vision,
Free your life.

Poem: Moments

Today's prompt is 'books' and the poetic form, I thought to try today, is 'Diamante'. A diamante poem is a diamond shaped, 7 line poem. The poem begins with a subject and end to a different or opposite subject. Line 1 has one word, 2 has two words. Words increase by one word in every line till four. Then from the fifth line words decrease by one till the last line.

Poem: Summer-Tide

Every day the summer season is turning more and more challenging to face. April poetry celebration is my summer solace. For the day 13th, I thought to pen down the summer-tide. Today's poems form a chain of free haiku where the last verse of earlier haiku forms the first verse of the next haiku. Also, the last verse of the last haiku forms the first verse of the first haiku converting it into a day-night summer cycle.

I chose to write about the troubling summer to make summer time enjoyable. If we change our perception towards difficult times, we can definitely find something to celebrate.

Predawn wind takes the mind
In the deep slumber, the alarm awakens
The eyes to meet a bright new day.

Poem: Storms

Today is the twelfth day of our April poetry celebration. Thinking about a new theme and a poem on it is a challenge as well as a gratification. The theme of today's  poem is storms of life. Once again, a poem with full of optimism and self-motivation.

The storms of life shall pass away and
You will be the victor
Today, tomorrow…
Or someday,

Poem: Bhagawate Vasudevay

It's the day 11 of April poem-a-day celebration. Let's make the challenge a bit tougher. Today's poem an acrostic hymn to Lord Krishna. The first letter of every verse forms the sacred Mantra, 'Aum Namo Bhagawate Vasudevay', I bow to Bhagwan Vasudeva and so is the name of the poem.

Poem: Smoothing the Misfortune

It's the tenth day of poetry celebration 2016. Today, I chose to write an alliteration rhyming poem.

Tough thoughts of twisted theories
Search straight solutions for severe stories

Micropoems: Heat Wave

Celebrating poetry by a poem-a-day has been nice so far. But, this year temperature is so high, it's a bit difficult to bear the summer heat. Some micropoems on summer experience this year.

Blistering Sun,

Growing discomfort,
Life's becoming difficult day by day,
This summer heat wave.

Poem: Refuge

Chaitra Navaratri Vrata is going on. We pray and worship Lord Shrirama and Devi Maa during Navaratri. Today's poem is a hymn to the power of Lord Almighty.

Ceased to seek refuge in the unworkable solutions to life's miseries that
Separated me from my Lord Krishna and Sadhana
For a momentary happiness.
Temporary happiness is
Just a diversion with no peace, adding stress.

Reecho
One voice in my ears,

Missing you
Where are you?

Poem: Trust The God

When everything is turned against you,
When you're treated like a guilty,
To wipe the sins of real culprits
Remember your inner strength bestowed by the God.
Trust your good karma.

Poem: The World of Words

The theme for PAD 2016 day 6 is 'words.'

Words can create life,
Words can ruin it easily.
Words are power,
Words can change lives,

Poem: Can't tell you, How Much I Need You

The theme of today's poem is Lord Krishna and His devotees. Lord Krishna describes four types of Bhaktas in Bhagwadgeeta (7-16). They are, ārta, artharthi, jidgyasu, and jnyani. Today's prayer is the prayer by a āarta devotee. Ārta Bhakta is a devotee who is suffering extreme distress and seek help from Bhagwan Shri Krishna.

Dear Bhagwan Krishna when I think about justice,
I remember you,
I pray to you,
Can't tell you, how much I need you.

Poem: The Power of Optimism

Sometimes we need to give a firm message to negative thoughts before they occupy our mind. Today's poem on the power of optimism:

O negative thoughts,

You knocked the doors of my mind,

But it's full of love and compassion;

Poem: Meditating With Stars

The theme for PAD 2016 Day 2  poem is Meditation with Stars. Yesterday, we saw the meditation happening by chanting the Divine Name of Lord Rama in the 'Sacred Song of Breathing'. Stars and the sky inspire spirituality and Dhyana.

Meditating with the stars.
Each one of them has a poem
In its heart.
The more I listen to them
The calmer I feel.

Poem: Sacred Song of Breathing

The self-thought prompt for today's poem is 'Space'. It's a hymn to Lord Shriram and His Dhyana.

Taking a breathing space
Every day,
From the material world chaos to meet you,
To embrace you.
